Fishing on Lake Maggiore
All you need to know
Licenses
Do you want to experience fishing on Lake Maggiore? Here is the essential information to do it properly and smoothly!
Compulsory licensing
To fish in the waters of Lake Maggiore and the Piedmont Region, an amateur fishing license is required. This can be achieved through a temporary permit or by paying the regional concession fee (€35 for type B license, free for children under 14). Payment is made through the PAGOPA and is valid for 365 days.
Licenses from other regions
If you have a license issued in another Italian region or in the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, it is also valid in Piedmont. However, if you come from another province or region and want to fish in Lake Maggiore (FIPSAS concession), you will have to pay a FIPSAS fee:
- €6.00 for youth (born 2007 and younger)
- €30.00 for adults
(Validity: 3 months)
Where and how to fish
âś… From shore: with the standard license, a marker book is not required.
